Along with this he wrote – ‘I had not even thought of watching this film earlier, but now I definitely want to watch it so that I can understand why there was a need to remove it.’

After this, Kashyap shared another post on Instagram story in which an edited video of the film is going viral on social media. It was claimed in that post that a particular scene with Arjun Rampal became a major reason for the removal of the film. Reacting to this, Anurag appealed to the people to watch the film. He wrote, ‘Everyone watch the film, even if you have to watch the pirated version.’ Not only this, Anurag Kashyap also shared the 9.5 rating given to the film in IMDB on social media. However, now the rating has also been removed from IMDB.

Why was the film banned?
Let us tell you, Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sutlej’ was released on July 3 after facing a dispute with the Censor Board for almost four years. CBFC had asked for 127 cuts from the film. But it was released on OTT without any cuts. Due to this, the film was banned from OTT after 48 hours of its release. At the same time, after the release of the film, debate has started on social media regarding censorship, freedom of expression and making films on historical events.
What is the story of ‘Sutlej’?
