Delhi. Some structures built outside the Pakistan High Commission in the capital Delhi have been demolished after they were found outside the prescribed limits of the premises. Official sources gave this information on Thursday. Sources said that the concerned agencies took this action with the help of JCB machine and removed the structures and barricades built in the street outside the campus. These also include barriers put up near the visa section to manage queues.

Visuals from the scene showed debris scattered outside the High Commission and broken metal railings and gates, bent metal frames, bricks and pieces of concrete and the upper layer of the wall. Visuals showed parts of external structures completely collapsed. The exterior around the service windows appeared to be damaged and there were parts of plaster and masonry broken.

The visa section is visible amid the debris where the service windows are marked 'Window 1' (Window Number One), 'Pakistani Passport Only' (Pakistani Passport Only) and 'Window-5/Collection of Visa Applications' (Window Number Five/Collection of Visa Applications). Broken fences and construction materials are also seen lying around many counters. The main entrance of Pakistan High Commission is safe.

Its white walls, domed structure and large metal gates bearing the emblem of Pakistan remain intact. Barbed wire fencing is also visible on some parts of the compound wall. The development comes days after Pakistan removed security barriers and parking pillars erected outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
