Army’s warning on the anniversary of Pahalgam attack – conspiracy against India will get a befitting reply

New Delhi, 22 April. Today, on the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, those martyrs who were hit by the bullets of ruthless terrorists are being remembered through various events across the country. In one of the most brutal incidents targeting civilians in recent years, Pakistan-backed terrorists shot dead 26 innocent tourists after identifying them by religion.

Meanwhile, on the first anniversary of the terrorist attack, the Indian Army warned that any wrongdoing against the country would be given a befitting reply. In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, the Army said, ‘There will definitely be an answer for the actions done against India. There will definitely be justice. Always.’

The Army also shared a picture showing ‘Operation Mahadev’, on which the tagline was written in red, ‘It was just a matter of time.’ This points towards the search operation and action taken to kill the terrorists involved in the attack.

It is noteworthy that ‘Operation Mahadev’ was started immediately after the terrorist attack on April 22, 2025 in Pahalgam. In this, a large-scale search operation was conducted in difficult areas of the Himalayas near Dachigam/Mahadev Ridge. During this period, three main culprits of the terrorist attack were killed. The Indian Armed Forces searched the dangerous area of more than 300 square kilometers for 93 days and finally killed those terrorists.

‘When the limits of humanity are crossed’ then the answer is decisive

Earlier on Tuesday, on the eve of the first anniversary of the Pahalgam attack, the Indian Army reiterated its firm commitment towards justice and issued a stern warning that any violation of the limits of humanity will be given a decisive response.

“When the limits of humanity are crossed, the response is decisive,” the army said in a strongly worded post on Twitter. Justice is achieved. India is united. The post was accompanied by a picture message that read, ‘Some lines should never be crossed.’ It showed a map of India with red ‘Sindoor’ on it, symbolizing the Army’s decisive action against terrorists under ‘Operation Sindoor’. The picture also had the message, ‘India does not forget’, underscoring the country’s resolve and unity.

26 innocent people were killed in the brutal massacre of Pahalgam.

It is noteworthy that the Pahalgam terror attack took place on April 22, 2025, when 26 people were killed in a brutal massacre targeting tourists. This attack was carried out by ‘The Resistance Front’, which is a part of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba. The attackers separated the victims by asking their religion and forced them to recite the Islamic ‘Kalma’ to identify non-Muslims. Those killed included 25 tourists and a local pony-driver who had tried to rescue the tourists. Many of the victims in that attack were newlyweds and many were shot at close range in front of their families.

Army had conducted ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to Pahalgam attack.

In response to that attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Vermillion’ at midnight between 6 and 7 May. According to officials, it was a focused, measured and non-escalating military operation aimed at major terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. After this operation, Pakistan retaliated through drone activities and shelling for the next one week, in which it targeted civilian areas, religious places and schools.

After this, India also carried out retaliatory attacks, in which radar bases in Lahore and facilities near Gujranwala were targeted. After suffering heavy losses, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations contacted his Indian counterpart and requested to stop the military action. As a result, a ceasefire was agreed between the two sides on May 10, 2025. Despite the ceasefire, there have been continued attempts to intrude into Indian civilian and military areas through unmanned aerial vehicles and small drones. These infiltrations were stopped and the Indian armed forces responded strongly.
