The wait is almost over for fans of the dark comedy genre.
The creators behind Jeevan Bheema Yojana has finally confirmed the release date of the upcoming film.
Set for a worldwide theatrical release next month, Jeevan Bheema Yojana stars Arshad Warsi in a career-defining performance.
Directed by Abhishek Dogra, the film will see the 58-year-old Indian actor take on two roles on screen for the first time.
The story focuses on Arshad Warsi in a double role as Jeevan, an ordinary man drowning in debt, and Bheema, his ruthless lookalike.
When fate brings the two together, their worlds collide in a whirlwind of crime, deception and dark twists.
The Constitution star Sanjeeda Shaikh will play Yojana, a clever wife with a daring scam in mind.
Vijay Raaz will take on the role of Vinayak, whose secrets unravel as the story unfolds.
Talking about the dark comedy, Abhishek shared, “Jeevan Bheema Yojana is a film about ordinary people making one extraordinary, catastrophic decision; and then spending the rest of the film paying for it.”
He described the film to be a “dark comedy, but the heart of it is very human.”
Continuing, “Greed, desperation, love, and the terrible momentum of a lie you can’t stop telling. Arshad brings both men to life with a precision that constantly surprised us on set.”
Also joining the iconic cast are Pooja Chopra, Bijendra Kala and the late Atul Parchure, who play key roles in Jeevan Bheema Yojana.
Jeevan Bheema Yojana is all set to entertain audiences when it hits cinemas on August 28.
