Important projects received approval from Center in four years of Dhami government
Dehradun. In Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during the last four years, many major development projects have been approved in coordination with the Central and State Governments.
During this period, significant progress has been recorded in the infrastructure, connectivity and water resources sectors due to better coordination between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government.
At present, work is going on in the state on various projects costing more than Rs 2 lakh crore with the cooperation of the Centre, which are expected to strengthen the economic development and infrastructure of the state. Water supply, irrigation and urban development are also likely to gain momentum after the long pending Jamrani and Song dam projects get the final approval.
Remarkable progress has also been seen in the field of rail connectivity. 11 railway stations of Uttarakhand are being developed under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme. Along with this, getting the approval of the Center for Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line is being considered an important achievement for the Kumaon region.
This project, costing approximately Rs 48 thousand crore, is expected to significantly improve the connectivity of the hilly areas. At the same time, the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line project is also rapidly moving towards completion.
Road and rope-way projects have also seen momentum. Work has progressed on projects like Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Road, Najibabad-Afzalgarh Bypass and Sitarganj-Tanakpur Motorway. Apart from this, Gaurikund-Kedarnath and Govindghat-Hemkund Sahib ropeway projects are also in the process of starting work after getting approval.
With the aim of promoting tourism, an international level rafting platform is being developed in Rishikesh at a cost of about Rs 100 crore, which is likely to give the state’s tourism potential a new identity at the global level.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that due to the joint efforts of the Central and State Governments, connectivity in Uttarakhand has been strengthened and the road network has expanded from village to village. He expressed confidence that the state is ready to contribute significantly to the goal of ‘Developed India’.
