Salman Khan’s stand regarding ‘Mathrubhoomi’ clear, refuses OTT release

The ongoing speculations regarding actor Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Mathrubhoomi’ have now come to an end. For the last few days, there were reports that the film can be released directly on the OTT platform, but according to the latest information, the makers have made it clear that this film will not be released digitally but will be presented to the audience on the big screen only.

According to sources associated with the film, ‘Mathrubhoomi’ has been prepared on a grand scale and has been made keeping in mind the theater experience.

The source says that both Salman Khan and director Apoorva Lakhia are in favor of releasing this film in theatres. Even though the release of the film is getting delayed, there are currently no plans to bring it on OTT.

According to reports, the film has not yet been sent to the censor board for certification. It is being told that initially the film was inspired by a true incident, but after objections from the Defense Ministry, some changes were made in the story.

The ministry had advised removing direct references related to China and Galwan Valley from the film, following which the makers had to re-shoot some portions.
