Massive fire in Ghaziabad: More than 500 huts burnt to ashes, 6 children feared missing
Ghaziabad. A massive fire broke out in Kanwani village located in Indirapuram police station area of Ghaziabad at around 12 noon on Thursday. Within no time the fire took a huge form and more than 500 huts were burnt to ashes. High flames of fire were visible far and wide, due to which an atmosphere of chaos was created in the entire area.
It is feared that about six children are missing in this tragic accident, although no official has yet confirmed this officially. As soon as the fire broke out, the LPG cylinders kept in the slums started exploding one after the other, due to which the sound of loud explosions shook the entire area and spread panic among the people.
As soon as information about the incident was received, several teams of local police and fire department reached the spot and immediate relief and rescue operations were started. Dozens of fire engines have been deployed to control the fire. It is being told that the fire is spread over a large area, due to which it may take several hours to extinguish it.
According to preliminary information, the fire started from a scrap warehouse, after which it quickly spread to the slums. However, the actual cause of the fire is not yet clearly known.
Fire fighters are continuously trying to control the fire by spraying water. More than a dozen water tenders are engaged in this campaign. Local people also risked their lives to extinguish the fire and evacuate people safely.
Senior officials of the district administration are also present on the spot and are keeping an eye on the situation. Due to this horrific fire, hundreds of families have become homeless and they are facing the crisis of food and shelter. At present, the damage caused by the fire is being assessed by the administration and the police has started a detailed investigation of the matter.
