Bengali actor Biplab Dasgupta passes away

Kolkata. Veteran Bengali actor Biplab Dasgupta, known for his roles in films like ‘Gumnami’ and ‘Zulfikar’, died here on Friday after prolonged illness. He was 75 years old. According to family sources, Dasgupta was suffering from health complications after surgery for some time. After feeling uneasiness at his Golf Club Road residence in Tollygunge on Friday, Dasgupta was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Dasgupta is survived by his wife and daughter. Dasgupta also left his acting mark in TV serials like ‘Chemistry Maasi’, ‘Jagmaya’ and ‘Checkmate’. When Dasgupta’s mortal remains were taken to ‘Technician Studio’, celebrities from the film, television and OTT world paid tribute to him.
Worked in more than 17 serials
Biplab Dasgupta was considered a well-known artist in the TV world of Bengali cinema. He has shown his acting skills in many excellent roles in his career. Biplav has been a part of Bengali cinema for a long time. In the year 1998, he worked in his first project The Bengali Night. After this, he also worked in a serial named Kahini which was released in 1996. Along with this, she has made her mark by doing amazing work in many Bengali language serials on TV.

Kolkata cinematic world saddened by his demise
Veterans of Bengali cinema have expressed grief over the demise of Biplab Dasgupta. Biplav was seen in the serial Chemistry Masi in the year 2024. He also showed his acting skills in a project named A Holy Conspiracy which was released in 2022. Along with this, he has also worked in such projects as Zulfikari, Faluda and Gumnami. Before the demise of Biplab Dasgupta, his wife and daughter took care of him. He was ill for a long time. Now the stars of Kolkata cinema have expressed grief over the demise of Biplab Dasgupta and called it an irreparable loss.
