Tehran. Iran has made it clear that there are no plans to hold talks with the US during Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s visit to Islamabad. The Iranian delegation led by Araghchi has reached Islamabad.

An Iranian delegation led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reached Islamabad on Friday night for talks with Pakistani leaders.
Iran International quoted Ibrahim Azizi, head of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, as saying that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s visit to Pakistan is limited only to bilateral issues and has no connection with nuclear talks.
“Met foreign journalists in Tehran and thanked them for coming to present a true picture of our country,” Azizi wrote in a social media post.
“In the meeting, I made it clear that Foreign Minister Araghchi’s visit to Pakistan is only to discuss bilateral relations and he has not been entrusted with any work related to nuclear talks, which is one of Iran’s major limitations.”
According to Pakistani media reports, the Iranian Foreign Minister reached Islamabad late on Friday night. Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar informed about his arrival on X. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghei is also with the delegation.
However, the US says that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and White House adviser Jared Kushner will visit Islamabad on Saturday for talks with Iran after Tehran contacted the Trump administration.
