Commercial LPG gas cylinder becomes costlier, will be available in Delhi for Rs 3,071.50

New Delhi. The country’s government oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a huge increase in the price of LPG cylinders. However, this increase has been made only in commercial cylinders i.e. 19 kg LPG cylinders. From this morning the price of commercial cylinder has been increased by about one thousand rupees. It is a matter of relief that 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been kept out of today’s increase. Now commercial cylinder has become costlier by Rs 993 in the country’s capital Delhi, Rs 993 in Mumbai, Rs 990.50 in Chennai and Rs 994 in Kolkata.

According to the government oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), after today’s increase in the price of commercial cylinder, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi has now increased from Rs 2,078.50 to Rs 3,071.50. Similarly, in Kolkata its price has increased from Rs 2,208 to Rs 3,202. Whereas in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, a commercial cylinder will be available for Rs 3,024 instead of Rs 2,031, while in Chennai, the price of a commercial cylinder has been increased from Rs 2,246.50 to Rs 3,237.

It is noteworthy that the prices of commercial LPG cylinders used in hotels, restaurants, dhabas and other commercial establishments have increased for the sixth time in the last five months. Earlier on April 1, it had become costlier by Rs 218. Its price was increased twice in March. On March 1, its price had increased by Rs 28, while on March 7 it had become costlier by Rs 114.5. Similarly, its price was increased by Rs 49 in February and by Rs 111 in January, while the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder was reduced in December 2025.

It is a matter of relief that once again there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder used in the kitchen. The price of domestic LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 60 on March 7, 2026. According to IOC, the price of a non-subsidised 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is currently Rs 913 in Delhi. Its price in Mumbai is Rs 912.50, in Kolkata it is Rs 939 and in Chennai it is Rs 928.50.

To prevent black marketing of domestic LPG gas cylinders, the delivery authentication code system of gas cylinders has been made more stringent from today itself. Now the cylinder will be delivered to the consumer only when he shows the OTP received on his registered mobile number. Delivery of gas cylinder will not be given without showing OTP. It has been said that if a consumer’s mobile number is not updated with the gas agency, then he can update his mobile number in real time through the gas delivery app.
