PM Modi extended best wishes on Buddha Purnima, said that following his ideals is the true path.
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while wishing the countrymen on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, called for adopting the thoughts of Lord Buddha. He said that the ideals of Buddha are equally relevant even today and play an important role in taking the society forward towards peace, compassion and unity.
In his message on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said that this holy occasion of Buddha Purnima inspires us to imbibe the values of life. He urged the people to pledge to follow the path of peace and harmony. In another message, he said that the country’s commitment towards realizing the ideals of Lord Buddha is strong. He hoped that Buddha’s thoughts would deepen joy and unity in society.
In a video message, the Prime Minister explained the Buddha’s path in three parts—theory, practice and realization. He said that first gaining knowledge, then applying it and finally experiencing it is the true path of Buddha. He also said that India is continuously progressing in these three dimensions and many efforts are being made to spread the thoughts of Buddha to the people.
Referring to the historical role of India, the Prime Minister said that this is the same land where Lord Buddha was born and from where his ideas spread throughout the world. He said that Buddha Purnima is not only a religious festival but also a day of introspection and sense of duty. It inspires us to give place to service, sacrifice and compassion in our lives. In the end, the Prime Minister appealed to the countrymen to contribute to building a better and peaceful society by following the path of Buddha.
