Flight-like experience can soon be available in Indian Railways, premium pod concept introduced

Tezzbuzz Desk- The way of traveling in Indian Railways may completely change in the coming times. Now preparations are being made to provide business class facilities like flights to the passengers in trains also. Taking an important step in this direction, students of National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad have designed a unique premium executive pod concept, which focuses on making travel more comfortable and luxurious.

Special design for high-speed trains

This new concept has been specially designed keeping high-speed trains in mind. In this, passengers will get a private cabin i.e. private pod, where they will be able to sit comfortably as well as lie down. The seats will be made on the basis of ergonomic design, which will reduce fatigue during long journeys.

Pod will be equipped with premium features

Many modern facilities have been included in this executive pod, such as individual lighting, adequate storage space, small workspace, interior equipped with smart technology. Due to these features, passengers will get a completely different and better experience from the existing train coaches.

Joint effort of Railways and Design Institute

This project has been developed under the Railway Design Center (RDC) established in collaboration with Indian Railways and NID. Its main objective is to improve the passenger experience and improve the train design as per future needs.

When will it be implemented?

At present this is a concept design and no official announcement has been made regarding its implementation. Railway officials are considering the feasibility and cost of this model. If this plan goes ahead, we may see a new change in the premium travel segment.

Such premium pods can prove to be very attractive especially for business travelers and high-end travelers. This can turn train travel into not only a comfortable but also a luxury experience.

If this concept turns into reality, then the experience of traveling in Indian Railways will be completely new. In the coming times, train travel may become as comfortable and premium as flight.
