Hat-trick of victory for Gujarat Titans, defeating Punjab Kings by 4 wickets
Ahmedabad. In IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans performed brilliantly and registered their third consecutive win by defeating table topper Punjab Kings by 4 wickets. However, despite this defeat, Punjab Kings remains at the top position in the points table.
In the match played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat won the toss and decided to bowl first. Punjab team could score only 163 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat achieved the target of 164 runs by losing 6 wickets in 19.5 overs. The hero of the victory was Washington Sundar, who ended the match by hitting a six in the last moments.
The start of the run chase was not good for Gujarat and captain Shubman Gill was out early. After this, Sai Sudarshan took over the innings and gave stability to the team by forming an important partnership with Jos Buttler.
