UAE’s Fujairah oil plant attacked, fire caused by drone and missile
Abu Dhabi/Fujairah. A massive fire has been reported following an attack on a petroleum site located in the Fujairah region of the United Arab Emirates. According to local officials, the incident came to light after a drone strike allegedly carried out by Iran caused panic in the area.
According to the Fujairah media office, the fire spread rapidly in the Petroleum Industry Area immediately after the attack. To control the fire, fire brigade and emergency services teams immediately reached the spot and extinguishing work was started. According to the information, three Indians have been injured in this attack.
Earlier, the UAE Defense Ministry had informed that some missiles were fired towards the country. According to officials, many of these missiles were neutralized en route by the air defense system. However, some attacks are expected to cause limited damage.
After the incident, security has been tightened in the entire area and surveillance has been increased at sensitive places. It is believed that an attack on Fujairah, which is an important energy and oil export center of the UAE, could further increase regional tensions.
In recent times, increasing military activities and conflict incidents in the Gulf region have increased the concern of the international community. With tensions already high in the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding areas, such incidents could impact global energy supplies and markets.
At present, the UAE administration is monitoring the situation and the damage is being assessed. Officials have appealed to people not to pay attention to rumors and follow official information only.
