Damoh: Lokayukta caught three employees of education department red handed while taking bribe of Rs 80 thousand.
Damoh. Sagar Lokayukta Police, in a major trap action at Damoh district headquarters of Madhya Pradesh on Monday night, arrested three employees associated with the education department red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 80 thousand. This action was taken at around 8:00 pm on the main road in front of the local Polytechnic College located on Damoh-Jabalpur Aam Road.
According to Lokayukta Police, the applicant Navendra Kumar Athaya (36), son of Girdhari Lal Athaya, primary teacher science, then Government Excellent Higher Secondary School, Patera, District Damoh, resident of village Karaiya Joshi Tehsil Hata, had reached Lokayukta office Sagar and submitted a written complaint. In the complaint, the applicant had stated that a bribe of Rs 80 thousand was being demanded by the employees associated with the Education Department in return for his reinstatement from the suspension period and completion of the departmental inquiry. After receiving the application, the complaint was verified. When the complaint was found to be true, a planned trap action was taken today.
Among the accused arrested by Lokayukta Police are Anil Kumar Sahu (40) son of Halkai Prasad Sahu, Secondary Teacher, Secondary School Bhuri, Sankul Urdu School Damoh, resident of BSNL Colony Damoh, Manoj Kumar Srivastava (58) son of Late. RC Srivastava, Assistant Grade-2, Office of the District Education Officer, Damoh, resident of Vasundhara Colony, near Jain Mandir, in front of Central School, Damoh and Neeraj Kumar Soni (45), son of Late. Kamal Prasad Soni, Assistant Grade-3, Office of District Education Officer Damoh Resident – Near Radharaman Temple, Asati Ward Damoh.
This entire action was taken in front of the Polytechnic College on Damoh-Jabalpur Aam Road, where under a pre-determined plan the applicant was sent with the bribe amount. As soon as the accused received the money, the already deployed Lokayukta team immediately laid siege and caught all three. Cash was seized on the spot, Panchnama was prepared and the accused were preliminary interrogated. Advance legal proceedings continued till late night. Inspector Manju Kiran Tirkey and Inspector Ranjit Singh were the trappers in this successful trap operation.
