ADF kills at least 20 people in Democratic Republic of Congo

kinshasa . At least 22 civilians have been killed in an attack by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The ADF is the most deadly and feared rebel group operating in the eastern part of Congo. The group, which originated as an anti-government rebel group in Uganda in the mid-1990s, is now spreading its terror mainly in Congo.

ADF rebels in Congo attacked the town of Beau Manyama in the Beni region in North Kivu province between Tuesday midnight and Wednesday morning, KBC Channel 1 News reports. The rebels killed 22 people using sharp weapons. This group is an affiliate of the Islamic State (ISIS). The ADF has killed thousands of civilians. It has been declared a terrorist organization by America and the United Nations. Congolese forces, UN peacekeepers and Ugandan forces are continuing joint military operations to eliminate the ADF.
