Korba . Arun Kumar Tyagi, former General Manager of SECL Gevra Area and recently promoted to the post of Director Technical (DT), died in a road accident late on Thursday night. The news of his sudden demise has sent a wave of mourning across the entire Koylanchal region.
According to the information, Arun Kumar Tyagi had left for Singrauli to join his new posting. It is being told that he had left Gevra in his Innova car at around 12 o’clock on Thursday night. Meanwhile, his car collided with a parcel vehicle near Chotiya on Korba-Chotiya road. The collision was so severe that he was seriously injured.
Immediately after the accident, with the help of local people and passers-by, he was taken to Apollo Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead at around 3 am on Friday morning.
As soon as information about the incident was received, SECL officers, employees and their well-wishers reached the hospital in large numbers. As soon as the news of Arun Kumar Tyagi’s demise spread, there was an atmosphere of mourning in the entire Koylanchal region including Gevra.
Arun Kumar Tyagi was known as an efficient administrator, officer with simple nature and gentle personality. Under his leadership many important works were carried out in Gevra area. The officers and employees expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to his demise.
On this occasion, Gevra General Manager Sanjay Mishra and other officials have expressed condolences, terming the incident as extremely tragic.
