Beirut. There is not a moment’s peace here during the ongoing ceasefire between Lebanon and Iran brokered by America. Israel’s continuous bombing of Lebanon continues. At least 24 people were killed in the attacks on Saturday. Israeli air and artillery attacks on southern Lebanon have intensified significantly. This claim has been made in the report of Al Jazeera.
According to this report, Israel on Saturday issued orders to evacuate nine towns and villages in southern Lebanon. After this, attacks were carried out in many areas of the south. The death toll in southern Lebanon is increasing day by day. Israeli air, drone and artillery attacks have intensified in the last 48 hours.
It is alleged that Israeli soldiers have also carried out vandalism at many places in southern Lebanon. It is being told that all this is happening inside the ‘Yellow Zone’ which has been declared by Israel. This yellow zone extends 10 kilometers inside the Lebanese border. This is also worrying because Lebanon and Israel are preparing for low-level diplomatic talks to be hosted by Washington. There appears to be some hope for extending the current, ongoing ceasefire.
The Lebanese government has a number of demands from Israel, including help in reconstruction – whether from Israel or the international community. This help has been sought for such towns and villages in southern Lebanon which are occupied by Israel. Apart from this, the larger issue of the release of people detained in Israel and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Southern Lebanon is also included.
