Many leaders including President and Prime Minister extended best wishes on the 51st Foundation Day of Sikkim.
New Delhi . On the occasion of Sikkim’s 51st State Foundation Day, President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and many Union Ministers greeted the people of the state and praised the achievements of the state. Sikkim formally became the 22nd state of India on 16 May 1975.
President Murmu, in his message on social media The people of Sikkim are known for their warmth, simplicity and goodwill. His wish is that the state should continue to progress.
Prime Minister Modi while congratulating the people of Sikkim said that the contribution of Sikkim in the development of India is very important. He wished for good health and prosperity of the people of the state. The Prime Minister said that recently he had the opportunity to attend the State Foundation Day celebrations among the people of Sikkim, where the camaraderie he experienced will remain a part of his memories. He assured that the Central Government will continue to provide full support to the development of Sikkim in future also.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla described Sikkim as the unique identity of the country as a state with natural beauty of Kanchenjunga, biodiversity and complete organic farming. He said that Sikkim, famous for cleanliness, tourism and rich cultural heritage, is contributing significantly to the progress of the country.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on the occasion that as the world’s first fully organic state, Sikkim has given a new identity to mountain tourism and its achievements inspire the entire country.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the natural beauty, folk culture and traditions of Sikkim and congratulated the people of the state. He wished for the continued development and prosperity of the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh said on the occasion that Sikkim, full of natural beauty and cultural heritage, is a symbol of peace and harmony and it is his prayer that it continues to move forward on the path of development.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, while wishing the people of Sikkim on the State Foundation Day, said that Sikkim, a symbol of amazing natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and brotherhood, is making an important contribution to the progress of the country.
