After that decision, petrol in the capital Delhi reached Rs 97.77 and diesel Rs 90.67 per liter. Now after the new increase, petrol is being sold at Rs 98.64 per liter and diesel at Rs 91.58 per liter in Delhi.

Whereas in Kolkata, petrol is being sold at Rs 109.70 and diesel at Rs 96.07 per litre. In Chennai, petrol has become Rs 104.49 and diesel Rs 96.11 per litre.
According to experts, due to the ongoing tension in West Asia and the Iran-America-Israel conflict, there has been a huge rise in the prices of crude oil in the international market. The global energy crisis has deepened due to the impact on trade activities in the Strait of Hormuz. The price of Brent crude oil has reached around $ 100 per barrel.
According to the Petroleum Ministry, there has been some reduction in the losses of government oil companies after the recent price increase. While earlier the companies were incurring a loss of around Rs 1000 crore per day, now it has come down to around Rs 750 crore. At present, the government has refused to give any kind of subsidy or relief package to the oil companies.
