How to get the examination fee back, what rules have been made by NTA, know the complete process

NEET Exam: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to launch the refund portal for the candidates appearing for the re-examination of NEET UG 2026 on Thursday. This exam was scheduled after the original exam held on May 3 was reportedly canceled due to apprehensions of paper leak. NEET UG 2026 exam was canceled following allegations of paper leak, which sparked nationwide outrage and a formal investigation was initiated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). However, the agency has clarified that the refund amount will not include payment gateway or bank charges.

How to get refund

Candidates are advised to fill their bank details carefully including account holder name, account number, IFSC code and bank name to ensure smooth process of refund.

How much refund will I get?

According to Careers360 report, general category candidates will get a refund of Rs 1,700, while OBC and EWS candidates will get Rs 1,600.

NET (UG) 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm, including the time for formalities. No additional fee will be charged from the candidates for appearing in the re-examination.

Students can also submit complaints or queries through the official NTA Helpdesk email: neetug2026@nta.ac.in.

SC, ST and PWD candidates will get a refund of Rs 1,000, while NRI candidates will get Rs 9,500.

NTA has said that candidates will not be allowed to change the examination medium chosen during the application process.
