Raipur . Today will be a historic and unforgettable day for Agriculture College Raipur when history, present and future will meet together here. Agriculture College, Raipur is celebrating the 66th foundation day of the college today on Friday.
To celebrate the 66th foundation day of the college in a grand and grand manner, annual function, student union swearing-in, former dean felicitation and alumni felicitation ceremony are being organized under which three students of the first batch of the college as well as the former students who have achieved special heights of success in various fields will be honoured. Along with this, seven former deans of the college and the present Vice Chancellor, Registrar and senior administrative officers of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, who received education from the same college, will also be honoured.
Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University will be the chief guest of the Foundation Day function organized at 2 pm today at the Krishak Auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. On this occasion, the swearing in ceremony of the office bearers of the newly formed student union will be organised.
Dean of the college, Dr. Aarti Guhe said that in the felicitation ceremony, seven former Deans of Agriculture College, Raipur will be honored, who during their tenure took the college to new heights through academic, research and extension activities. He told that among the former Deans who will be honoured, Dr. S.S. Baghel, Dr. M.N. Srivastava, Dr. O.P. Kashyap, Dr. S.R. Patel, Dr. M.P. Thakur, Dr. K.L. Nandeha and Dr. G.K. Das is included. In the ceremony, three former students who received education in the first batch of Agriculture College, Raipur and retired professors from the college, Dr. M.R.H. Siddiqui, Dr. R.K. Sahu and Dr. V.N. Sahu will also be honoured. Along with this, alumni of the college who have achieved notable achievements in various fields will also be honoured.
In the initial phase, this college was operated under Dr. Harisingh Gaur University Sagar, which in the year 1964 is being operated under Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur and then from 20 January 1987 under Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur.
