The dream of developed India will come true only through tribal development: President Murmu
New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu said that the goal of developed India will be achieved only when the tribal community can also be fully integrated into the mainstream of development. Addressing the National Conference of Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) and Integrated Tribal Development Projects (ITDPs) on Wednesday, he called upon the officials to effectively extend the benefits of the schemes to the tribal society.
The President said that despite being culturally rich, the tribal society is often deprived of information and benefits of government schemes. Therefore, it is necessary that welfare schemes be taken to their villages and homes again and again. He said that it is the responsibility of all concerned agencies and authorities to connect the tribal communities living in remote forests and hilly areas with the mainstream of development.
He said that under the Prime Minister Tribal Development Campaign, a target has been set to deliver development programs to more than 20 thousand tribal villages. It is especially important to provide housing, land rights and livelihood opportunities to the extremely backward tribes.
