US Army attacks Iran’s radar bases, missile alert in Kuwait-Bahrain
Washington/Tehran. Tension between America and Iran has increased once again. The US military took action by targeting some radar and surveillance bases located in Iran’s coastal region, while Iran has reacted strongly, calling it a violation of the ceasefire.
According to US officials, maritime activities around the Strait of Hormuz were being monitored. The US military claims that some drones operating in the area were posing a potential threat to international shipping. After this, US forces carried out targeted attacks on surveillance structures located near Iran’s Goruk area and Qeshm Island. Both these places are located near the Strait of Hormuz and are considered strategically important.
On the other hand, Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the US action, calling it a step to increase tension in the region. The ministry says that such military activities are contrary to the spirit of the already existing ceasefire arrangement and may affect regional stability.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it targeted US military bases in the Gulf region in response to the US attacks. The organization also said action was taken against some ships in the Hormuz area, although these claims could not be independently confirmed.
Kuwait’s military said its air defense system neutralized several ballistic missiles heading towards the country’s airspace. According to military officials, remnants of the missiles fell in some residential areas, causing damage to property, but no casualties were reported.
On the other hand, security agencies in Bahrain issued warning sirens as a precaution and appealed to citizens to move to safe places. Regional countries have been monitoring the situation and stressed the need for diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions.
