‘Love, marriage and honeymoon abroad…’, Maulvi had made a deal, police sent him to jail

Police have exposed a shocking case related to love trap and possible human trafficking in East Champaran, Bihar. Four minor girls who were missing from Shikarganj police station area were safely recovered by the police within just 36 hours. In this case, a Maulvi named Asfaq has been arrested, who is accused of taking girls under his influence by showing them dreams of love, marriage, better life and traveling abroad.

There was panic in the entire area after the incident. On the complaint of family members, the police immediately registered an FIR and formed a special investigation team. The facts that emerged in the initial investigation made the case much more serious than a simple disappearance.

What game was the Maulvi playing?

According to the police, the accused first came in contact with a student studying in a madrasa. He won the trust of the student by continuously talking through mobile phone and then gained access to her friends. It is alleged that he was luring the girls into his trap by showing them dreams of a bright future, marriage and traveling abroad.

The matter took a more serious turn when one of the recovered students told the police that she had heard the accused telling someone on the phone that the girls would be taken somewhere and sold. After this revelation the fear of human trafficking became stronger.

Police increased the scope of investigation. Complaints had been received earlier also regarding the activities of the accused. He was removed from the madrasa after protests by family members, but he remained in touch with the girls through mobile phones.

Accused’s mobile phone seized

On the instructions of SP Swarn Prabhat, the special team formed under the leadership of Sikarhana SDPO Abhishek Kumar arrested the accused from Dhaka police station area on the basis of technical research, mobile location tracking and continuous raids. On his notice, all four minor girls were recovered safely.

The police have also seized a mobile phone from the accused. Now the call details, mobile data and his contacts are being investigated to find out whether any organized human trafficking gang was active behind it.

4 girls saved from being sold

Police officials say that due to timely action, four innocent girls were saved from falling into the trap of possible human trafficking. At present the accused has been sent to judicial custody and the investigation of the entire network is going on. This is being considered a major success of the police against human trafficking in the district.
