Modi said on completion of 12 years of government, development scenario of the country changed due to women empowerment

New Delhi. On the occasion of completion of 12 years of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described women-led development as a major achievement of the government and said that in the last decade, women have made significant progress in many fields including education, health, science, entrepreneurship, sports and administration.

The Prime Minister said on social media that the government’s policies and schemes have provided dignity, opportunities and empowerment to women. Women have got the opportunity to become self-reliant through initiatives like financial inclusion, self-employment, education, health, sanitation, housing and skill development. He said that the aim of the government is to create an environment where women can contribute effectively to nation building by utilizing their full potential.

The Prime Minister described the increasing participation of women in emerging fields like science, space research, innovation and drone technology as a major achievement of India. He said that the active presence of women in these areas is opening doors to new opportunities and giving new impetus to the development of the country.

He also described the role of Self Help Groups (SHGs) as important and said that the government is continuously encouraging these groups. This has helped millions of women become financially independent and gain self-employment opportunities.

The Prime Minister said that in the last 12 years, the respect, safety and empowerment of women has been at the center of all the schemes of the government. It is noteworthy that after assuming power at the Center in 2014, the NDA government has implemented many schemes aimed at strengthening the social and economic status of women, promoting financial inclusion, maternal health, sanitation, housing, skill development and entrepreneurship.
