DGP reviewed law and order in view of President’s visit and special events

Bhopal . A video conference of Inspector General of Police and Superintendent of Police was organized on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana. In the meeting, security arrangements for the President’s proposed visit to Madhya Pradesh and other VIP and VVIP programs were also reviewed.

In the meeting, the DGP directed all the Zonal Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police to prepare a comprehensive security plan to maintain law and order, traffic management, security arrangements and communal harmony during Moharram, Tajiya processions, other religious events, the proposed visit of the President and VIP programs and ensure its effective implementation.

DGP Makwana said that during the upcoming festivals and events, special surveillance should be kept on traditionally sensitive areas, procession routes and religious places. An atmosphere of social harmony and mutual harmony should be maintained by establishing regular communication with peace committees, religious leaders and local public representatives.

He directed the officers to continuously monitor the misleading information, rumors and objectionable material being spread on social media and other digital mediums and to ensure prompt legal action against any kind of inflammatory or law-order affecting activity. Keeping the intelligence system active in sensitive areas, necessary preventive steps should be taken by timely assessing the possible challenges.

The DGP said that the available police force, riot control equipment, vehicles, communication resources, CCTV surveillance system and emergency response system should be reviewed and kept fully active and ready. He also directed that at the places where CCTV cameras are installed, their functionality should be ensured and under no circumstances should the surveillance system of important public places and police establishments be disrupted.

In the meeting, regarding the President’s proposed visit to Madhya Pradesh, the officials were instructed to give top priority to the prescribed security protocols, route security, anti-sabotage checking, traffic management, crowd control and coordinated security arrangements. Emphasis was laid on completing all security arrangements in a timely manner by establishing coordination with the concerned departments and agencies.

Additional Director General of Police Intelligence A.Sai Manohar, Deputy Inspector General of Police Tarun Nayak, PSO to DGP Dr. Vineet Kapoor, SO to DGP Malay Jain, Superintendent of Police ATS Pranay Nagvanshi, and AIG Vineeta Malviya were present in the meeting.
