India is going to sell BrahMos to China’s neighboring country

Nagpur: Major progress has been made in the export of India’s supersonic cruise missile BrahMos. BrahMos Aerospace chief Jayatirtha Joshi has said in a conversation with ANI that talks regarding export of BrahMos missile with Vietnam have almost reached the final stage. Now only a few necessary approvals are left, after which this important defense deal can be finalized. Let us tell you that Vietnam also shares its border with China and both are neighboring countries.

‘Talks with many other countries also’
Joshi gave this information on the occasion of flagging off the 100th indigenous booster manufactured by Solar Industries India Limited for the BrahMos program in Nagpur. He said that apart from Vietnam, talks are also going on with many other countries in the eastern and western regions regarding the export of BrahMos missile. He said that as soon as the government’s approval is received, information about these countries will be shared publicly.

Emphasis on cost reduction and indigenization
Jayatirtha Joshi said that in the last one and a half years, work has been done on a large scale to reduce costs and increase indigenization. He said,

‘Through value engineering, raw material costs have been reduced by approximately 24 percent, while manufacturing and component costs have been reduced by approximately 10 percent. The total cost of Indian parts used in BrahMos is expected to reduce by about 20 percent in the next one to two years. This will make the missile system more competitive and economical.

‘Work is being done on more BrahMos missiles’
Joshi said that keeping in mind the future needs, work is being done on BrahMos-NG (Next Generation) and new versions with extended firepower. Apart from this, research is also going on to make the missile lighter by using advanced composite materials. He said the final technical specifications of the new versions would be decided after the completion of design validation and simulation studies.

‘Live’ testing done in Operation Sindoor
The BrahMos chief claimed that the BrahMos missile was recently tested using real conditions during Operation Sindoor. He said that BrahMos has become a unique supersonic missile system, which has been developed and successfully tested in collaboration with DRDO. According to him, this was the first time the missile was tested directly against an adversary during an actual operation.

Talks on increasing production with Russia
Joshi said that in view of the increasing needs of the BrahMos program, talks are also going on with Russia to increase the production capacity. He said that Russia has its own industrial partners, but considering the current circumstances, a need is being felt to increase demand there too. The 100th indigenous booster of BrahMos was flagged off in an event organized in Nagpur. This is being considered an important achievement towards indigenization in the BrahMos programme.

‘Testing of indigenous warhead also completed’
Jayateerth Joshi told that earlier this booster was imported from Russia, but now it is being manufactured in India itself. He said,

‘So far 100 indigenous boosters have been supplied and Solar Industries India Limited has played an important role in this. The company has also completed trials of indigenous warhead. After the process is completely successful, Indian warheads will be used instead of imported warheads.

BrahMos is a joint project of India and Russia.
BrahMos, developed in joint collaboration between India and Russia, is considered one of the world’s fastest and deadliest supersonic cruise missiles. Due to its speed, accuracy and multi-dimensional launch capability, it has become the main firepower of the Indian Armed Forces. Come, let us tell you about the features of BrahMos:

Joint Development: Developed by DRDO (India) and NPO Mashinostroyenia of Russia.
Specialty of the name: The names of Brahmaputra of India and Moskva River of Russia have been combined.
Two-stage missile: using a solid fuel booster in the first stage and a liquid fuel ramjet engine in the second stage.
Supersonic speed: Can fly at a speed of approximately Mach 2.8 (about three times faster than the speed of sound).
Multi-platform launch capability: Can be launched from land, sea, submarine and fighter aircraft.
Fire and Forget Technique: No additional guidance is required to reach the target after launch.
Dual target attack: Can target both land and sea targets.
High Accuracy: Ability to deliver extremely accurate hits to the target.
Flying at low altitude: Flies at extremely low altitude in the final stage, making it easy to avoid enemy radar.
Difficult to Intercept: It is considered extremely difficult to intercept due to its high speed and special flight profile.
Major strengths of the Indian Army: Deployed in all three: Army, Navy and Air Force.
Big hopes for defense exports: BrahMos is among the most important defense export products of India.
The BrahMos missile is currently deployed in various branches of the Indian Armed Forces and is considered one of India’s most important defense export products in the global defense market. The possible agreement with Vietnam could give a new boost to India’s defense export strategy.
