Important meeting of MP Cabinet today, decision on relief to Simhastha office and 24 lakh farmers

Bhopal. Decisions on many important proposals will be taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers to be held in Mantralaya on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The most prominent proposal among these is to establish a permanent Simhastha Mela office in Ujjain.

Along with this, there is a possibility of approval to continue the scheme of providing agricultural loans at zero percent interest to more than 24 lakh farmers of the state in the year 2026-27 also.

After transferring the Directorate of Religious Trusts and Endowments Department from Bhopal to Ujjain, the government is now taking steps towards giving an institutional form to the preparations for Simhastha.

According to the proposal, the Simhastha Mela office in Ujjain will be operated permanently. Till now this office was active only during Simhastha event.

Preparations for Simhastha will be monitored throughout the year
The permanent office will regularly monitor the development works, schemes, infrastructure construction and administrative preparations related to Simhastha Mahakumbh and Ardh Kumbh. In view of the proposed Simhastha in the year 2028, its administrative and financial preparations have already been completed.

Farmers will get big relief
A proposal of the Cooperative Department will also be placed in the cabinet meeting, in which it has been recommended to continue the facility of interest-free short-term agricultural loans to farmers.

Out of about one crore farmers in the state, about 24 lakh farmers are associated with cooperative banks and take loans through Kisan Credit Card (KCC). Under the scheme, no interest is charged from farmers who repay the loan within the stipulated time period.

The entire amount of interest is borne by the state government. The government will also compensate cooperative banks for the extra time given to farmers to repay Kharif loans.

Brainstorming on other proposals too
Apart from these two important proposals, about 10 other departmental proposals are also likely to be discussed and decided in the Council of Ministers meeting. After the meeting, a Cabinet Committee meeting can also be organized to consider investment related proposals.
