Roadmap decided for higher education, meritorious girl students will get scooty under ‘Avwal Balika Yojana’
Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, while reviewing the roadmap and action plan for the next five years ‘Haryana Vision-2047’ prepared by the Higher Education Department, discussed in detail the progress of the ongoing schemes, budget announcements and Chief Minister’s announcements to make higher education more modern, quality, employment-oriented and in line with global standards.
In the meeting held on Thursday, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education Department AK Singh, Department of Future Principal Secretary Amneet P Kumar, Director General of Higher Education Department S. Narayanan, OSD to the Chief Minister and Director General of Golden Jubilee Haryana Institute of Fiscal Management Dr. Raj Nehru and other officials were also present.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed by the officials that 22 Model Culture Colleges of the state are being developed as autonomous institutions. These include modern infrastructure, smart classrooms, digital libraries and technology-based teaching facilities are being expanded.
To promote internationalization of higher education, the educational institutions of the state have been targeted to be included in the top 150 institutions of the National Institutional Ranking Framework.
For this, collaboration with foreign universities, student exchange programs, research activities and patent culture are being promoted. The progress of ‘Autonomous AI Digital College’ was also reviewed in the meeting.
These institutes to be established in Panchkula and Gurugram will work on AI based modern teaching system. It was informed in the meeting that tuition fees of girl students at graduation level in government colleges has been waived.
The Chief Minister directed to keep a special watch on the dropouts of the students and to reconnect them with the mainstream of education. 100 percent reimbursement of patent registration fees (maximum up to Rs 50 thousand) to promote research and innovation.
A ‘Higher Education Quality and Research Fund’ of Rs 10 crore is being established. Reviewing the progress of the Chief Minister’s announcements, information was given about the ongoing educational infrastructure projects in Rewari, Narnaul and other areas.
The Chief Minister directed to speed up the process of providing scooties to meritorious girl students under the ‘Avwal Balika Yojana’. The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure regular monitoring of all schemes and projects and their timely implementation, so that Haryana can be made a leading state in the field of higher education, research and innovation.
