Ruckus after Moharram in Darbhanga district of Bihar, attacks on Hindu houses
Darbhanga. Tension spread in the area due to incident of riot and fighting after Tajiya immersion and Pahalam on the occasion of Muharram on Saturday night at Bariaul Chowk of Kamtaul police station area of Darbhanga district in Bihar. The miscreants attacked and vandalized many houses, shops and temple premises. At least six people were injured in the incident. Police have arrested six accused. It is alleged that during this period the houses of Hindus were targeted. In view of the tension, additional police force has been deployed in the village.
According to eyewitnesses, some people created a ruckus in Bariaul Chowk and surrounding areas late in the night. The miscreants vandalized many houses and shops. The boundary wall of the temple was damaged. The glass panes of the shops were broken and the CCTV installed in the area was also damaged. Asbestos sheets of many houses were also damaged. During this time, people who were found on the way were beaten up.
As soon as the information was received, the police arrived and brought the situation under control. The injured were referred to Jale after first aid. Police have arrested six accused and conducted raids to arrest others.
