Shimla. In the much-discussed Manisha Mittal murder case of the capital Shimla, the police have made a big revelation and named the deceased’s brother Himank Mittal as the mastermind of the murder.
According to the police, Himank Mittal, along with his business partner Govind, got the school director Manisha Mittal murdered by giving contract to two shooters.
Investigation has revealed that Manisha Mittal was having a dispute with her brother Himank and his partner Govind regarding property. This dispute is being considered as the main reason for the murder. Police have so far arrested all four accused in this case.
The school’s CCTV became fatal for Manisha.
The facts revealed in the investigation have made this case even more shocking. According to the police, Himank Mittal had full access to the CCTV cameras of Saraswati Paradise School.
He was constantly keeping an eye on the activities of his sister Manisha Mittal and her travel time through cameras. Police say that the entire murder plan was made on the basis of this surveillance.
The cameras for which security arrangements were installed in the school, became a medium to gather information about Manisha Mittal’s activities. In the police investigation, this aspect is being considered an important part of the murder conspiracy.
Money transactions and rental car links
ASP Shimla Mehar Panwar said on Tuesday that many important facts have come to light in the technical investigation and investigation of financial transactions.
According to the police, a few days before the incident, Himank Mittal had transferred Rs 8 lakh 30 thousand to Govind’s account. Investigation also revealed that Govind had rented the Swift car used in the incident and made it available to the shooters.
According to the police, Govind had also transferred money to the accused shooter Deepak. This evidence provided a strong basis for the murder conspiracy and the relationship between the accused.
Accused fled abroad, then arrested from Rohtak
According to the police, after the incident, Govind had gone abroad to avoid arrest. Even after returning from abroad, he kept his mobile phone switched off and kept trying to hide. After technical surveillance and continuous raids by the police, he was arrested on June 28 from Rohtak, Haryana.
On the basis of clues found during interrogation, the police also arrested the main accused Himank Mittal from Rohtak on June 29. Police remand has been obtained by presenting both the accused in the court and their further interrogation is going on.
Police said- All accused arrested, investigation still going on
In a press conference held on Tuesday, ASP Shimla Mehar Panwar said that the case has been successfully cracked on the basis of technical evidence, CCTV analysis, mobile data, financial transactions and other investigations. He said that all the four accused involved in this murder have been arrested.
The police is now also investigating how long the preparations for the conspiracy were going on and whether any other person had a role in it. Police say that every aspect of the case is being investigated thoroughly.
This is how the layer-by-layer story of the entire massacre unfolded from June 13 to June 30.
On the evening of June 13, two masked attackers opened fire on school director Manisha Mittal outside Saraswati Paradise School in Bhattakufar. Due to this he died on the spot.
After the incident, Shimla Police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The investigation was carried forward on the basis of CCTV footage, mobile location and technical evidence. On June 15, i.e. within about 40 hours, the police arrested both the shooters Ashish and Deepak from Rohtak, Haryana.
Two pistols were also recovered from their possession. After this, both the accused were produced in the court and were given police remand for the first seven days. He was also given additional remand of four days for further questioning.
During interrogation, examination of bank accounts and analysis of technical evidence, the police found clues to the role of Himank Mittal and Govind. On June 28, Govind was arrested from Rohtak, while on June 29, Himank Mittal was also caught by the police.
On June 30, Shimla Police disclosed the entire matter and said that the murder of Manisha Mittal was a planned betel nut killing, behind which her own brother and his business partner were.
