Microsoft creates new AI business unit for big customers, more than 6,000 employees will work
New Delhi: Tech company Microsoft has launched a new AI business unit for big businesses. It has been named Microsoft Frontier Co. Its objective is to help large companies to design and implement AI based solutions as per their need.
Microsoft said that more than 6,000 employees will work in this new unit, which will include a large number of engineering experts. The company has also invested $2.5 billion (about ₹21,000 crore) for this initiative. This unit will develop custom AI systems for companies using Microsoft’s existing AI tools.
Microsoft already working with big companies
Microsoft is already working on AI projects with big companies like London Stock Exchange Group, Unilever, Land O’Lakes and Accenture. In such a situation, the company can get the benefit of its strong customer base.
Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft’s Commercial Business, said that Microsoft Frontier Company will not be limited to just engineering support, but will become an AI organization that delivers results as per the needs of customers.
Competition intensifies in AI race
In recent months, companies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), OpenAI and Anthropic have also taken new initiatives towards providing AI solutions to large customers. A few days ago, AWS also announced an investment of $ 1 billion for this sector.
Seeing the increasing demand for AI services, big tech companies no longer want to be limited to just creating AI models, but are also emphasizing on creating AI solutions for customers as per their needs.
