According to the police, Hakim Maulana Irfan and Maulana Manavvar, wanted in the case, have been found to have contacts in western Uttar Pradesh and Delhi besides Chennai and Andaman-Nicobar. According to police investigation, Ayush was in contact with Hakim Maulana Irfan and Maulana Manavvar, residents of Nanupura in the city, for a long time. It is alleged that Irfan was in touch with some people of Delhi under the guise of Hakimi and also took Ayush with him several times, where he was allegedly brainwashed.
