FIFA World Cup, NATO, BRICS, Iran… this is the complete list of Trump’s open threats.
Washington: US President Donald Trump is the head of the world’s most powerful country, but his governance and style often violate diplomatic norms and reach the point of arrogance and arbitrariness. It has become their habit to threaten any country or institution every other day. Till now, Trump, who has been issuing threats regarding business and war, got his point across by bullying in the FIFA World Cup, which is being strongly opposed across Europe.
Actually, Trump’s working style has been to put so much pressure on the opponent in the beginning that he comes on the back foot. Let us know when, where and whom Trump has targeted with his threats.
Interference in FIFA World Cup
First of all let’s talk about Donald Trump’s interference in the FIFA World Cup. After Trump’s intervention, FIFA has withdrawn the red card given to American star forward Folarin Balogun, which will allow him to play the World Cup match against Belgium. Actually, America had defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in the round of 32 match. Folarin Balogun was shown a red card in the 64th minute of this match. According to FIFA rules, if a player gets a red card, he cannot play the next match. But suddenly FIFA’s disciplinary committee changed this decision. This means Balogun will continue to play the World Cup and the ban will come into effect after the tournament. It is being told that Donald Trump had direct interference behind this decision. He spoke to FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the whole matter changed. At the same time, UEFA, the supreme body of European football, has strongly opposed this decision.
If you want, you can eliminate everyone at once
During the Iran war, Donald Trump was often seen making threats in his statements or on social media. Recently, when lakhs of people gathered at the funeral of Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran, Trump gave a controversial statement and said that “If we want, we can eliminate everyone at once, but then who will be left for talks?” Trump expressed surprise after seeing Iranians crying at Khamenei’s funeral. He said that he thought people “hated” Khamenei. “Maybe those are fake tears,” Trump sarcastically said.
Tonight a civilization is going to die
During the Iran war, Trump had announced to destroy its entire infrastructure. Not only this, Trump had given a deadline to Iran for ceasefire. He had said that if Iran does not agree, he will destroy it. Now Trump has said in a post on social media that a civilization is going to die tonight. Donald Trump said – “An entire civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want it to happen, but it probably will. May God protect the great people of Iran!”
Warning to NATO: ‘Remember Greenland’
Donald Trump also threatened the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies. He bluntly stated during the Iran War, “NATO didn’t come to our aid when we needed them, and they wouldn’t be there if we needed them again.” Along with this, Trump said, ‘Remember Greenland!’ Even before this he had told European countries that if they did not spend 2 percent of their GDP on defence, America would not protect them. They will give Russia free rein to “do whatever it wants” with them.
Compromise before it’s too late
Donald Trump also threatened Cuba. He talked about making a compromise with Cuba. In a post on its social media platform Truth Social, it has announced that now Cuba will not get any oil or money. He wrote that Cuba was dependent on Venezuelan oil and financial aid for a long time but now the situation has changed. Trump has threatened the Cuban leaders and said that there is still time, make a compromise before it is too late.
‘Tariff bomb’ on BRICS and India
Donald Trump created a stir on the business front as soon as he assumed power for the second time. Giving an open threat to the BRICS countries, he said that if the countries involved bring any policy against America, then they should be prepared to face the consequences. Trump imposed heavy tariffs on 11 countries including India and China. Regarding India, Trump said that traditionally India is one of the countries with the highest tariffs in the world and it is very difficult to do business there. Apart from this, he also announced to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada.
Kim Jong was called ‘Little Rocket Man’
The dispute between Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in 2017, during his first term, is recorded in history. Trump had given the biggest warning in history to North Korea, saying that if it threatened America, it would have to face such “fire and fury” that the world would never have seen. He also called Kim Jong Un ‘Little Rocket Man’ in public forums.
