Big action in Badrinath-Kedarnath temple offering theft case

Dehradun: An employee of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has been suspended. The action was taken after a four-member team on Tuesday began investigating alleged irregularities in the management of donations at Badrinath Dham. Let us tell you that Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) is a legal institution which manages the Badrinath temple along with 44 other religious places and many schools and dharamshalas in Uttarakhand.

Suspended after investigation

BKTC Chairman Hemant Dwivedi said that employee Pramod Nautiyal was suspended after initial investigation indicated irregularities. Nautiyal was working as a private secretary in the temple committee. Dwivedi said the temple committee adopts a zero-tolerance policy in matters of corruption and if any employee is found guilty during the investigation, strict departmental and legal action will be taken against him.

Actually, this matter came into discussion when allegations of irregularities during counting of offerings in Badrinath Dham surfaced on social media. After this, an organization named ‘Bhairav ​​Sena’ filed a complaint and demanded investigation and registration of FIR. Last week, a committee of four members was formed, which included senior BKTC members Finance Controller Hem Kandpal, Legal Officer SS Bartwal, Chief Administrative Officer Rajan Naithani and Kedarnath Senior Administrative Officer DS Bhujwan.

CM formed committee to investigate

The committee started the investigation on the basis of CCTV footage, statements of the concerned employees and other necessary documents. Meanwhile, questions have also been raised regarding replacement of CCTV cameras. However, the BKTC CEO clarified that changing the cameras was part of a routine process and the complete records of the old DVR have been preserved for use in the investigation.

At the same time, amidst allegations of theft of offerings in Ram temple of Ayodhya, Congress has criticized the Pushkar Singh Dhami government due to similar allegations coming to light in Badrinath Dham. Uttarakhand Congress President Ganesh Godiyal has demanded a judicial inquiry into the entire matter or a joint committee of the Assembly. At present the investigation of the case is going on.
