Storm ‘Bavi’ wreaks havoc in China, large number of flights cancelled, high speed rail services affected

Beijing. Typhoon ‘Bavi’, which hit the eastern coast of China, has caused widespread devastation. Thousands of flights across the country have been canceled or delayed due to strong winds and torrential rains, while high-speed rail services have also been affected in many areas.

In view of the situation, the Chinese administration has made emergency arrangements on a large scale. According to China’s state media Xinhua and other media reports, Typhoon ‘Bavi’ reached East China’s Zhejiang province on Saturday, after which heavy rains started in many parts of Southern and Eastern China. Travel analytics platform ‘Umetrip’ was quoted as saying that more than 2,800 domestic and international flights scheduled for Sunday were cancelled.
