Construction of 900 meter long tunnel completed in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, bridge in final stage.
Dehradun. The construction work of the 900 meter long tunnel being built to connect Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway and Kedarnath National Highway in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand has been completed. Along with this, the 200 meter long bridge being built has also reached its final stage.
The completion of this project will provide great relief to the devotees visiting Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham as well as the local people. District Magistrate Vishal Mishra said that the construction work of the bridge will be completed by August 31. After this, the process of necessary testing and trials will be started to check the quality, safety and technical standards of the bridge.
He said that at present the traffic pressure often increases due to vehicles passing through Rudraprayag city, due to which local citizens and travelers have to face the problem of traffic jam. After the bridge and tunnel come into operation, the movement of vehicles will be more organized, travel time will be reduced and the traffic pressure in the city area will also reduce to a great extent.
The District Magistrate said that this project is not limited only to improving the traffic system, but is also an important step towards strengthening the overall arrangements of Chardham Yatra. With this, lakhs of devotees coming to Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham will get the benefit of safe, fast and convenient transportation.
