The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has once again issued a major alert, warning of heavy rain, storm and thunderstorm in 18 states within the next 12 hours. According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, on July 26, the weather may be very bad in many states from North India to Eastern and Central India. There is a possibility of strong winds with speed up to 80 kilometers per hour in many areas, while hailstorm and excessive rain may also occur at some places.
There is a danger of landslides and flash floods in the hilly states. At the same time, problems like waterlogging, falling of trees and affected power supply may arise in the plains. Fishermen, farmers and people living on river banks have been advised to be especially cautious.
Alert of heavy rain and storm in 18 states of the country
According to the Meteorological Department, on July 26, an alert of heavy rain, storm and thunderstorm has been issued in 18 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. There is a possibility of strong winds at the speed of 70 to 80 kilometers per hour in many areas.
Delhi NCR
Delhi (July 26 – Warning of heavy rain and strong storm): According to the Meteorological Department, the capital will remain cloudy throughout the day and there may be heavy rain in many areas. There is a possibility of winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum is expected to be 25-26 degrees Celsius.
Uttar Pradesh
UP (26-29 July – Rain and storm alert): Warning of heavy rain and strong storm has been issued in many districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Agra, Mathura, Bahraich, Saharanpur, Barabanki, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Bulandshahr, Muzaffarnagar, Jhansi, Lalitpur.
Bihar
Bihar (July 26 – Heavy rain and strong wind alert): Patna, Gaya, Rohtas, Nawada, Arwal, Jamui, Lakhisarai, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Katihar, Buxar and Bhojpur may experience heavy rain with winds at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour.
Jharkhand
Jharkhand (July 26-27 – Rain and thunderstorm warning): Alert of strong winds up to 70 km per hour with heavy rain has been issued in Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Khunti, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamshedpur and Hazaribagh.
Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand (July 26-27 – Heavy rain alert): There is a danger of landslides with heavy rain in Nainital, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, Haridwar and Almora. Wind can blow at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour.
Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh (26-28 July – Rain and storm alert): Warning of strong winds along with heavy rain has been issued in Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Solan.

Jammu and Kashmir (July 26 – Heavy rain and thunderstorm warning): Alert of heavy rain and thunderstorm has been issued in many areas including Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Kupwara, Kulgam, Anantnag, Doda and Kishtwar.

West Bengal (July 26 – Moderate to heavy rain alert): Malda, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Hooghly, Nadia, Birbhum, Bankura and Durgapur may experience heavy rain with wind speed up to 70 km per hour.
Punjab
Punjab (July 26 – Heavy rain and strong wind warning): There is a possibility of strong thunderstorm with rain in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Bathinda, Firozpur, Mansa, Faridkot, Sangrur and Barnala.
Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh (July 26 – Heavy rain and storm alert): Warning of moderate to heavy rain and strong winds has been issued in many districts including Bhopal, Vidisha, Jabalpur, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Seoni, Betul, Dhar, Guna, Ujjain, Umaria and Agar Malwa.
Gujarat
Gujarat (July 26 – Heavy rain alert): Heavy rain and winds with a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour are expected in Ahmedabad, Vapi, Umargam, Sabarkantha, Surendranagar, Mahisagar and Aravalli.
Maharashtra
Maharashtra (July 26 – Heavy rain and strong wind alert): There is a possibility of heavy rain in Pune, Raigarh, Satara, Akola, Amravati and Buldhana. Fishermen in coastal areas have been advised not to venture into the sea.
Rajasthan
Rajasthan (July 26-27 – Rain and thunderstorm warning): Heavy rain and wind speed of 70 to 80 kilometers per hour is likely in Jaipur, Alwar, Ajmer, Tonk, Jhunjhunu, Sriganganagar, Chittorgarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhilwara and Pali.
