Delhi NCR Rain Alert: Once again people in Delhi NCR have got relief from the humid heat. It started raining here from 10 am. A very unique sight has been seen in the satellite images released by the Indian Meteorological Department. Starting from North India, passing through the Himalayas and China, a huge strip of clouds about 10,000 kilometers long has formed. In scientific language it is being called Monsoon Convergence Zone. Due to the activation of this system, the moisture coming from the Indian Ocean is directly reaching the states of India. The new weather system formed in the Bay of Bengal has strengthened it further. This is the reason why torrential rains have started from Delhi to the North-Eastern states.
Changed weather of Delhi and NCR
A major change in the weather has been seen in the capital Delhi and surrounding areas since Friday morning. In the morning, dark dense clouds covered the sky and heavy rain was recorded in many areas. This has brought great relief to the people from the humid heat that has been going on for the last few days. According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad will remain cloudy throughout the day and there may be heavy showers in the evening as well. Although there will not be any major drop in temperature, the weather will remain very pleasant due to cold winds. This pleasant weather is expected to continue throughout this week.

Rivers in spate in UP and Bihar
The coming days can be very challenging for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Due to continuous rains in these two states for the last 10 days, about 10 small and big rivers including Ganga and Yamuna are in spate. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in 54 districts of Uttar Pradesh and 40 districts of Bihar on Friday. Orange alert has been issued for many areas. People living in low-lying areas have been advised to remain alert as the water level of rivers is rising rapidly, due to which the possibility of flooding of nearby fields and villages has increased significantly.
Situation worsened due to floods in Gujarat and Assam
The most dangerous effects of heavy rain are being seen in Gujarat and Assam. Many districts of Gujarat have been hit by waterlogging and floods. In the last 24 hours, record-breaking rainfall has been recorded in Umargam taluka of South Gujarat, where 43 inches of water fell in just 16 hours. Due to this heavy rain, roads and houses have been submerged. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of extremely heavy rain in 11 districts of Gujarat on Friday. On the other hand, due to continuous rains in the north-eastern state of Assam, many areas including Guwahati have been submerged in water and life has become completely disrupted.

Heavy rain alert issued in 14 states
Meteorologists say that there will be heavy rains in many parts of the country for the next two days. The Meteorological Department has warned of rain with strong thunder and lightning in about 14 states including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Tripura. There is a danger of landslides and rockslides in the hilly areas, hence tourists and local residents have been advised not to undertake unnecessary travel.
Heavy rain alert for next 2 days
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain in many states of the country for the next two days. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and Tripura. Apart from this, good rain is also expected in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and West Bengal. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert during bad weather, avoid waterlogged areas and come out of the house only when necessary. An appeal has also been made to follow the instructions of the local administration.
How does the monsoon convergence zone work?
This special form of weather system is formed when winds and moisture rising from the Indian Ocean combine with Asian weather systems. This creates a very long and strong path of clouds. There is a continuous flow of moisture on this path, due to which it rains simultaneously on a large area. According to experts, this situation is a sign of the most active monsoon in India. Due to this situation, there is good rainfall even in those parts of the country where till now there was drought like situation.
