Bus shelter evacuated for VIP movement, video of people getting drenched in rain goes viral

Jaipur. On Tuesday, during heavy rains on JLN road in Delhi, an incident came to light which raised questions on the attitude of the system towards the common people. Employees, students and other pedestrians returning from office were standing under the Malviya Nagar bus shelter to save themselves from the rain. Meanwhile, information was received about a VIP convoy passing there.

The policemen on duty reached the bus shelter and started removing people from there. Eyewitnesses allege that people were first asked to move and later allegedly pushed out of the shelter.

Many people, including women, elderly people and school children, had to stand in the open amid the rain. Many people also had important documents, files and laptop bags. During this time, some people made a video of the entire incident, in which policemen can be seen sending people out of the shelter.

After the video went viral on social media, there was anger among the people regarding this incident. People raised questions as to why there was a need to remove the common citizens from the public place meant for shelter from the rain and why the convenience of the common public was not taken care of during the VIP movement.
