- Message of respected Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji on Guru Purnima festival – Save traditions, save the environment too; If you want to save your progeny then save both nature and culture.
Rishikesh. On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima festival, President of Parmarth Niketan, Parmarth Peethadhishwar Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj extended his hearty greetings and good wishes on Guru Purnima to all the countrymen and devotees associated with Sanatan culture across the world.
Swami Ji said that Guru Purnima is only a sacred festival to express reverence and gratitude towards the Guru, it is a divine opportunity to connect life with perfection, dedication and service. The Indian Guru tradition inspires us to live a balanced life with nature, culture and the entire creation along with only knowledge.
Today, on the holy festival of Guru Purnima, Parmarth Peethadhishwar, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, while paying homage to the entire Guru-tradition, Acharyas, Paramacharyas and the complete tradition of the Divine Sampad Mandal starting from Adi Guru Shankaracharya, Maharishi Vedvyas ji, said that today’s festival is Guru-Parva, Guru Purnima and the festival of completion. It is a festival of dedication, a festival of gratitude and a festival of accomplishment. We should be grateful and also be grateful. Gratitude towards the divine tradition because of which we are today, and the feeling of gratitude that due to their grace life today experiences divinity. Whatever we are experiencing, it is all due to the grace of those great men.
This festival is about becoming pure and making life blessed. Today is the birth day of Maharishi Vedvyas ji. Today is the day of merging into that divine rhythm and supreme rhythm. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shukdevanand Maharaj used to say – Life is salvation, salvation is not death. He gave this mantra and also made him experience it. Its essence is – Today for the first time in my life I feel, I too am living. Today, for the first time in my life, I am drinking even without drinking. Today, for the first time, I could have something of my own in the journey of breath. Today for the first time I can have my own morning. Today I am priceless, after being sold for nothing, the world should no longer put a price on me. Therefore, even if salvation comes, it too must return today dishonoured. Maharaj used to give this experience.
Swami said that a person becomes a slave because of his desires. A person becomes a slave due to his desires. Disappointment and sadness really come in life only when a person does not follow the right path. If something happens in the mind and something happens outside, then problems will definitely arise; But problems are solved for those who, whatever they do, believe in the Lord.
56 years ago there was a very dear saint. When there was prayer in Parmarth Niketan, he used to sing – Not me, not mine, this body belongs to someone else. Whatever money you have, that money is given to you by someone. Swami Bhajananand Maharaj also used to sing with great seriousness every day – Those who will die taking the name of Ram…he also used to discuss these lines. All those great men had understood the essence of their life. When we experience this in our life, then these small things will not matter. The truth is that these small things make us small. Today is the day to rise above all these small things and surrender.
This is the festival of rising above humility and inferiority, Guru Purnima and the one who embraces one from humility and inferiority is called Sadguru. When we forget our nature, all kinds of slavery surrounds us. Guru Purnima is the festival of freedom from all those slavery and tensions.
The meaning of Guru Purnima is morning in life, light in life and appearance of light in life. This happening in life is Guru Purnima. Light is life and darkness is death. Mother gives birth and when one gets life, then Guru Purnima happens. This is the festival of becoming someone. This dedication should come, the distractions should disappear, the darkness should disappear, the fog should disappear, this is the name of Guru Purnima.
Guru Purnima is to meet oneself. Guru Purnima is not a festival of decoration but of decorating oneself. Indian consciousness is not a festival of clothes but of deeds.
On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Pujya Swami Ji provided blessings and blessings to the Global Parmarth Family through online platform. Many devotees and devotees from all over the world sent their heartfelt greetings and salutations on Guru Purnima. Accepting it, he prayed to Mother Ganga for good wishes for everyone and said that wherever they are, they should continue serving humanity with their time, talent, tenacity and technology.
He called upon everyone to save traditions but also save the environment. If we want to save the progeny, then both nature and culture will have to be saved. If our culture remains safe and nature is preserved, only then the future of the coming generations will also be safe.
He said, on Guru Purnima, a tree must be planted in the name of that divine Sadguru. This is the best form of Guru-Dakshina. A tree is a living symbol of our devotion towards the earth, our responsibility towards the coming generations and implementing the teachings of the Guru in life.
Swamy said that tree plantation is not just an act of environmental protection, but a resolution to protect life, culture, compassion and the future. Guru connects us, awakens us and gives direction to life. Moving forward in the same direction, if every person takes a pledge to plant a tree and serve it, then this Guru Purnima can truly become auspicious for the earth, humanity and the entire creation.
