On the strength of the brilliant batting of Anuj Rawat and Aryan Gaur, Old Delhi 6 defeated Outer Delhi Warriors by seven wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026. Batting first in the match played on Monday night, Outer Delhi Warriors scored 165 runs, in response to which Old Delhi 6 easily achieved the target.
Outer Delhi Warriors got off to a fast start. Left-handed opening batsman Priyansh Arya batted aggressively and scored 46 runs in just 19 balls. His innings included four sixes and four fours. However, after Arya’s dismissal in the fifth over, the Warriors’ run pace slowed down and the team was in trouble after losing five wickets for 95 runs in the ninth over.
After this Akshay Saini and Shivam Sharma took over the innings. Both of them tried to take the team towards a strong score by making a partnership of 55 runs for the sixth wicket. Saini scored 49 runs in 40 balls, while Shivam Sharma contributed 22 runs in 23 balls. However, after this the rest of the Warriors batsmen could not last long and the entire team was all out for 165 runs.
Chasing the target, Old Delhi 6 also had a bad start and the team lost two wickets for nine runs. After this, Anuj Rawat and Aryan Gaur completely changed the course of the match by making a brilliant partnership. Rawat batted aggressively and maintained constant pressure on the Outer Delhi bowlers, while Gaur increased the scoreboard rapidly from the other end. Together they put Old Delhi 6 in a strong position.
Rawat played a stormy innings of 92 runs in just 38 balls and took his team very close to the target. He hit many brilliant shots before getting out. At the same time, Aryan Gaur remained unbeaten after scoring 57 runs in 40 balls and took Old Delhi 6 to the target and gave an easy victory of seven wickets.
