Amarjeet, the accused named in Asaon firing case, arrested

Asaon police has arrested a named accused on Monday night in connection with the firing incident that took place on the night of August 8 in Asaon police station area of ​​the district.

The arrested accused is Amarjeet Singh, resident of Pachbenia village. The police, acting on the basis of technical research and information received, arrested him.

According to SP Puran Kumar Jha, a person was returning to his home at around 9 pm on August 8. Meanwhile, some people allegedly fired at him with illegal weapons with the intention of killing him.

A written application was given in Asaon police station on August 9 regarding the incident. On the basis of the application, the police registered an FIR under the Arms Act and started investigation.

The police team inspected the spot. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the FSL team also got the incident investigated. After this, on the basis of technical research and information received by the police, the accused named in the FIR, Amarjeet Singh, was arrested.

Fear of firing in land dispute
In the preliminary investigation of the police, the reason for the incident seems to be an ongoing land dispute.

However, the police is investigating the case thoroughly keeping all the aspects in mind. The police team is continuously raiding possible locations to arrest other accused involved in the incident.

Criminal history of the arrested accused
According to the police, a case has been registered against the arrested Amarjeet Singh under various sections of BNS on Asaon police station case number 138/25, 14 November 2025. In action Asaon police station chief P.A.N. Santosh Kumar and other policemen of the police station were involved.
