Dhar road accident: A bus full of school children collided with a passenger bus

  • Injured children admitted to Bhoj hospital for treatment
  • Collector and Superintendent of Police reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the children.

A passenger bus hit a school bus from behind on Thursday morning at Pipalkheda near Dhar on the Indore-Ahmedabad road. 19 people including four school children were injured in the accident. All the injured have been admitted to District Bhoj Hospital in Dhar for treatment. On receiving information about the incident, Collector Rajeev Ranjan Meena and Superintendent of Police Sachin Sharma reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured.

According to the information, the accident took place at around 9 am on the four-lane road near village Pipalkheda of Naugaon police station area. The Gautam School bus was going towards Ghatabillod to pick up the students. Meanwhile, a private passenger bus coming from behind tried to overtake the school bus. It is being told that due to not enough space left during the overtake, the passenger bus hit the school bus from behind. The collision was so strong that the front part of the school bus was damaged.

Hearing the loud sound of the accident, nearby villagers reached the spot and helped in evacuating the injured trapped in both the buses. As soon as the information was received, traffic police and ambulance also reached the spot. With the help of Dial-112, police vehicles and private vehicles, the police took the injured to Dhar District Hospital. The team of doctors in the hospital started first aid to all the injured.

As soon as information about the accident was received, Collector Rajiv Ranjan Meena and SP Sachin Sharma reached the district hospital. Both the officers met the injured admitted in the hospital and inquired about their condition and took information regarding treatment from the doctors.

According to District Hospital Civil Surgeon Mukund Burman, a total of 19 patients were brought to the hospital after the accident. These include 15 women, one school girl and three men. All have suffered minor injuries and are being treated.

The injured included Parvati (35), Payal (25), Veena (65), Mahima (14), Lalita (45), Parvati (38), Priya (45), Sonu (29), Badrilal (35), Anjali (20), Palak (28), Kusum (40), Anil (27), Vijay (46), Shikha (34), Gaganbai (40), Subhash (78), Jitendra (38) and Asha (28) is included.

After the accident, eyewitnesses have accused the school bus driver of talking on mobile phone while driving. However, no official confirmation has been made by the police in this regard yet. Police are investigating the cause of the accident and the condition of both the vehicles.
