Kumar Vishwas, wearing saffron robes, sat in Nandi Hall for about two hours and had the divine darshan of Bhasma Aarti. During this time the temple complex kept resonating with the chants of Har-Har Mahadev and Jai Shri Mahakal.
Kumar Vishwas was welcomed by Deputy Administrator SN Soni on behalf of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee. After Bhasma Aarti, the temple committee also felicitated him. After the darshan, Kumar Vishwas told the media, “This is not just a coincidence. It is by the grace of Baba Mahakal that my presence is seen in every Shravan on some pretext or the other.” He said that Shravan is one of the most sacred months of the Hindu tradition and it was a privilege for him to have the darshan of Baba Mahakal at such an auspicious time.
Kumar Vishwas has also congratulated on Independence Day. He said that the 80th phase of India's independence has been completed. Mother India is regaining her glory. Here, on Sunday, on the Chaturthi of Shravan Shukla Paksha, Bhasma Aarti started early in the morning in Mahakal temple. After the doors of the temple opened at around 3 in the morning, the priests and priests worshiped the deities installed in the sanctum sanctorum and performed Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakal. Then the Lord was anointed with Panchamrit made from milk, curd, ghee, honey and fruit juice. After the worship, Lord Mahakal was adorned attractively with hemp, sandalwood and jewellery. After the first Ghantal, Hariom water was offered and Kapoor Aarti was completed amidst chanting of mantras. After this, the Jyotirlinga was covered with a cloth and ashes were offered as per the rituals.
After offering ashes, special decoration of Lord Mahakal was done. Baba was made to wear Sheshnag's silver crown, silver mundamaal and Rudraksha rosary. The Lord was adorned with garlands made of fragrant flowers of mogra and roses. Along with this, fruits and sweets were offered. It is believed that after offering ashes, Lord Mahakaal appears in formless form and gives darshan to the devotees. A large number of devotees participated in Sunday's Bhasma Aarti. Devotees visited Nandi Maharaj and sought blessings from Baba Mahakal by whispering their wishes in his ear. During the Bhasma Aarti, the entire temple complex echoed with the chants of Baba Mahakal.
