The doors of the Nagchandreshwar temple located on the third floor of the world famous Jyotirlinga Lord Mahakaleshwar temple located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, were opened at 12 midnight on Sunday midnight on Nagpanchami. As soon as the curtain opened, the devotees who arrived here from all over the country started having darshan of Lord Nagchandreshwar. The process of darshan will continue till 12 midnight on Monday i.e. 24 hours.
It is noteworthy that the doors of this temple located on the third floor of Mahakaleshwar temple open for 24 hours only once a year on Nagpanchami. The process of first puja started at 11:30 pm, about half an hour before the doors of the temple opened on Sunday midnight. After the curtain was opened at midnight, Mahant Vineet Giri Maharaj of Shri Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara performed the worship and consecration of Lord Nagchandreshwar. During this, Mahakal Temple Management Committee and administration officials were present. After the first puja, darshan was started for common devotees.
The temple of Lord Nagachandreshwar is situated on the third floor of Mahakal Temple. Apart from Nag Panchami, the doors remain closed for devotees throughout the year. For this reason, devotees from different parts of the country reach Ujjain for the darshan on Nag Panchami. This time, due to Nag Panchami and third Monday of Sawan being on the same day, the number of devotees in Mahakal temple is likely to increase further.
Special puja will be held three times
There is a tradition of Trikal worship of Lord Nagchandreshwar on Nagpanchami. The first puja took place after the doors opened at midnight on Sunday. The second special puja will be performed by Shri Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara on Monday at 12 noon. In the evening, after the evening aarti of Lord Mahakal, the priests and priests of Mahakaleshwar temple will perform special worship of Lord Nagachandreshwar.
General darshan entry arrangement in Nagchandreshwar temple has been fixed for the devotees from the entrance located at Karkaraj parking. After entering from Karkaraj, the devotees will enter the temple premises from entrance number 4 via Bhil Samaj Dharamshala, Gond Mohalla, Chardham, Harsiddhi Square and Bada Ganesh. After this, one will have darshan of Lord Shri Nagachandreshwar via Vishram Dham and will come out of the prepaid booth. After evacuation, the devotees will again go towards Karkaraj via 24 Khamba Road.
Early darshan entry into Nagchandreshwar temple: The entry of devotees for early darshan has been decided by Harsiddhi Pal. Devotees will enter through entrance number 5 via Bada Ganesh Marg and will have darshan of Lord Shri Nagchandreshwar via Vishram Dham. After darshan, after leaving the prepaid booth, we will again go towards Harsiddhi Pal via 24 Khamba Road.
