Ranchi. On the 24th day of the students’ agitation, the state government has taken a big step and decided to cancel all the JPSC-JSSC examinations conducted by TDPL. This decision was taken in a special meeting of cabinet ministers held under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday. Apart from this, the state government has also decided to cancel the CGL examination conducted by JSSC.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, while addressing media persons after the meeting, said that apart from the 14th JPSC PT, the Cabinet has also decided to cancel the backlog 2023 and 2025 examinations. He said that the government is with the students and this decision has been taken after considering their demands.
He said that according to the reports so far of the SIT and CID formed to investigate the CGL exam, some things have come up which indicate irregularities. The student caught in JPSC PT has also been found to have a role in CGL. In such a situation, the government has decided to cancel CGL.
Under the leadership of IAS Amitabh Kaushal, the state government has constituted a committee for the reform of JPSC and JSSC. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that SOP has already been made, if it had been followed then such a situation would not have happened. Apart from this, the state government has sought suggestions from the people for its improvement, which will also be incorporated later.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has decided to investigate all the examinations conducted since 2014 and action is being taken in this regard. The committee of ministers formed by the government on the demand of the students had also held several rounds of talks recently. In which a proposal was made to get the CGL exam or other exams investigated by a retired High Court judge, but no consensus was reached on this. It has been decided in the meeting that the CGL exam should also be cancelled.
The Chief Minister also announced that a special session of the Assembly will be called very soon regarding the way the Central Government has recently amended the Mines and Mineral Development Act and taken away the power of cess given to the State on minerals and a separate meeting will be held on this issue.
