Siwan. A scene that shocked humanity came to light on the banks of Saryu river on Monday evening in Dumarhar village of Darauli police station area of the district.
Seeing a newborn girl swinging between life and death in the river water, it seemed as if time had stopped. The girl was left by her mother on the river bank to die, but perhaps God had approved of her life.
The wife of Dumarhar resident Sanjay Kumar reached the banks of Saryu river while walking on Monday evening. There his eyes fell on a newborn girl struggling in the water.
Water bugs were hovering around the girl and scratching her body. Seeing this scene the woman’s heart trembled.
Without any delay, he entered the water and pulled the girl out. After pulling the girl out of the water, the woman informed the people of the village.
The villagers informed the police. Police reached the spot, but the villagers and the woman took the responsibility of immediately taking the girl to the hospital.
The woman first reached Darauli Community Health Center with the girl. After first aid there, he was admitted to SNCU of Siwan Sadar Hospital.
Dr. Umesh Kumar, who is treating the girl at Sadar Hospital, said that the insects present in the water have bitten and injured many parts of the girl’s body. However, at present the girl is out of danger and is undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
The woman who took the child to the hospital told that when they took her out of the river water, her umbilical cord was still attached. From this it can be inferred that the baby was left on the banks of the river to die soon after birth.
That little girl who was left to die on the banks of Saryu is today fighting for her life in the hospital. The mother who gave birth to him and surrendered him to death, in the same society, an unknown woman picked him up in her lap and tried to give him life.
If the girl struggling in the river water had not been taken out in time, perhaps her story would have ended there. At present, the newborn is breathing under the supervision of doctors and the hope of saving his life is still alive.
