Indore. The annual awards ceremony of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) was held at the Brilliant Convention Center in Indore on Wednesday evening.
In the ceremony, prize money worth more than Rs 2.94 crore was awarded to the male and female cricketers of the state for their excellent performance.
Former international cricketer and ICC match referee Javagal Srinath and Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were mainly present in the program. The presence of both made the ceremony special.
A large number of former and present cricketers, MPCA officials and members from the state attended the function. The whole atmosphere seemed full of cricket lovers.
MPCA awards awards every year to players who perform better in different age groups and categories.
This time the awards were distributed on the basis of the performance of the players in the last season. All the award winning players are from Madhya Pradesh. These also include senior cricketers, coaches and junior players.
In BCCI tournaments, prize money is given by the board on the basis of the performance of the players and the team. Similarly, MPCA also gives incentive amount to the players.
The prize money is decided on the basis of team and individual performance. Last season, Madhya Pradesh team was the winner of Cooch Behar Trophy, while the women’s senior team was the runner-up.
On the basis of these achievements, Madhya Pradesh also received prize money of about Rs 50 lakh from BCCI. At the same time, this time a total amount of more than Rs 2.94 crore was provided to the players by MPCA.
During the function, players were encouraged by giving them awards. MPCA officials appreciated the performance of the players and expressed hope of taking the cricket of the state to new heights in future also.
In the awards, cash amount and silver plaques were given to senior players to junior cricketers. The biggest individual awards include Madhavrao Scindia Lifetime Achievement Award for Prashant Mehta and C.T. Sarwate Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Anand Patel. Both were awarded Rs 5 lakh each and a silver plaque.
Whereas, Rajendra Rajguru, Ghanshyamdas Parkhe and Suresh Chenani were honored with the Nishkam Karmayogi Award. All three were awarded Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand 111 and a silver plaque.
The champion MP Under-19 team of Cooch Behar Trophy was given a prize money of Rs 73 lakh 83 thousand 750. Meanwhile, the runner-up MP Senior Team of the Women’s Senior T-20 Trophy received Rs 40 lakh. Prize money of Rs 64 lakh 84 thousand 375 was given for other BCCI teams.
Indian team players also received special awards
Players from Madhya Pradesh included in the Indian women’s, men’s and under-19 teams were also given special awards. Anushka Sharma, Saransh Jain, Anand Tagde, Yashvardhan Chauhan and Manal Chauhan were awarded Rs 5 lakh each.
Aryan Pandey and Chanchal Rathore became the best cricketers.
Madhavrao Scindia Award for Best Senior Cricketer-Main went to Aryan Pandey and Chanchal Rathore got the award for Best Junior Cricketer-Main. Both were given prize money of Rs 1 lakh each.
In the women’s category, the Best Senior Cricketer award was given to Ananya Dubey and the Best Junior Cricketer award was given to Ayushi Shukla. Both were given Rs 50-50 thousand.
Bowlers also got respect
The best spin bowler award in the Under-16 BCCI tournament was given to Hrithik Parab, who received Rs 20,000. Pushkar Vishwakarma was given Rs 30,000 for being the best fast bowler in the Under-19 BCCI tournament.
Kushagra Nagar was awarded Rs 30,000 as Special Recognition Award, while Nitin Menon was awarded a silver plaque as Special Recognition Award.
Indore Division received a prize of Rs 7 lakh 50 thousand for securing first position in the Division Incentive Scheme. Ujjain division was given Rs 5 lakh for second place. A total amount of Rs 60 lakh 68 thousand 50 was kept for division awards.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on social media that an evening is dedicated to those who have made cricket more than just a game.
At the MPCA Awards 2026, we honored the players, coaches, families and countless behind-the-scenes contributors who are taking Madhya Pradesh cricket to new heights.
He further said that from the legends who paved the way to the young champions who are taking it forward, Madhya Pradesh is building a cricketing legacy that is worthy of the biggest stage and perhaps, among those present here tonight, there may be someone who will etch his name in the history of Indian cricket in the future.
